Job Description

 

Position Base: This position is based in the territory of IL, WI, MI, IA, IN and reports to the HQ office in Woodland Hills, CA.

 

Job purpose:

-To plan and carry out sales activities on the travel agent channel via field calls, trainings, webinars and most importantly, Viking’s cruise night program.

-Focus on top producing accounts to increase sales revenue for the Viking product

-To keep Viking’s product mix as a top of mind preferred supplieandr

 

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

This is an integral position to the success of Viking Cruises within the travel agent channel.   Typical day-to-day activities include, but are not limited to the following:

Effective field calls; Training agents on how to market the Viking brand; In-house trainings for agents; Effective Cruise Nights for agents’ clients; Securing webinar based trainings with current top producing agencies and identifying potential marketing initiatives; Managing the sales option process to maximize sales cycle effectiveness; Conducting phone-based conference calls with top agencies and marketing articulate business model and value proposition of selling Viking Cruises; Developing and qualifying travel agencies within territory to drive additional sales opportunities; Gathering business intelligence on top travel agencies, competition and the travel industry to support the scheduling of sales calls and agent and consumer events; other responsibilities as required,

This position works closely with Inside Sales Managers, Directors and the Vice President of Sales.

 

Qualifications:

-5+years of field sales experience

-Excellent relationship-building skills

-Experience selling a luxury product

-Excellent written and oral communication skills

-Strategic thinking and understanding on how to

-Ability to do presentations in front of a live audience

-Great stage presence

-Self-motivated

-Must have good working skills in Power Point, Excel and Word

-Exceptional ability to immediately establish one's credibility with top travel agencies.

-Solid understanding of business concepts and ability to quickly learn travel industry-specific content

-Presents themselves professionally in the office and in the field

-Flexible to travel within the territory and occasionally international (40% travel)

-Team-player

-Ability to set and meet personal and team weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual revenue goals

-Has personal goals to be the best

Position reports to the Director, Trade Sales
