Purpose of the role:

• Develop and maintain effective relationships with key US travel trade partners in order to drive sales facilitation and maximise opportunities for recovery from leisure segments with greatest potential.

• Lead on the development and implementation of the US Consumer Partnership Marketing Programme to generate 3rd party commercial referrals for sales conversion.

• Act as key account manager for trade partners in the development and execution of co-operative marketing campaign activity in line with Tourism Ireland’s strategic objectives.

Note: This role will involve some travel and the occasional need to work unsocial hours including evenings and weekends.

The Duties – Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

1. Develop, implement, manage and evaluate US Partnership Programme and other tactical sales conversion initiatives for trade partners – via integrated digital media campaigns designed to generate third party referrals and drive sales conversion. Provide regular and timely feedback to US and island of Ireland-based industry partners on programme metrics and overall performance.

2. Manage and monitor the partnership marketing budget in line with financial procedures and maximise use of resources to deliver against project goals and targets.

3. Lead on the execution of cooperative marketing campaign activity with key tour operators and ensure alignment to corporate objectives.

4. Identify opportunities with both new and existing operators and agencies to re-build and optimize the range of island of Ireland products in marketplace.

5. Develop and execute an effective travel trade communications programme, including webinars for retail agents, collaborative Trade partner activities, the ongoing development of the trade site, regular trade e-zines and the delivery of tailor-made presentations. Ensure alignment of activities with priority consumer segments and markets in line with strategy and resources.

6. Develop and manage Tourism Ireland’s trade CRM programme in the US, including proactive key account management and building the database. Maintain comprehensive and accurate databases for US travel trade.

7. Lead on golf promotions including co-op marketing activity and key account management.

8. Act as the point of contact for US and island of Ireland-based trade with respect to providing market intelligence and guidance on industry marketing opportunities and platforms. 

9. Organise and coordinate US travel trade buyer participation in the annual Fáilte Ireland (Meitheal) and Tourism Northern Ireland (Meet the Buyer) workshops as well as educational/familiarization opportunities to the island of Ireland for top tier key US accounts.

10. Evaluate and report on key performance metrics, drawing insight from the data to ensure continual adjustments and improvements are made across all trade digital communication touchpoints.

11. Assist Trade & Industry Engagement Manager in the development and evaluation of well targeted annual marketing plan.

12. Ensure adherence to the company’s GDPR compliance policies and procedures in respect of your area of work.

13. Support and represent Tourism Ireland at industry events, shows, fam trips and corporate functions as required.

This role will involve some unsocial hours and travel. Such other duties as the Company may from time to time reasonably require.
